In this course, we will be further developing our drawing skills for transportation & industrial design. Topics such as structural function & technology evolution of automobiles / aeronautic design will help students to understand the proportions, shapes, and form styling reasons of a vehicle from the inside out. This class will also focus on more advanced sketching & material rendering techniques to help students further develop their visual communication skills to create clear material indications in their drawings/ paintings.

(John Frye will be teaching week 1~7. Ed Natividad will be teaching week 8~10)

  • Traditional sketching mediums
  • Digital Tools: Wacom or other brand digital drawing tablet, Photoshop or other quality drawing application

INSTRUCTOR: John Frye & Ed Natividad

John Frye is the Digital Modeling Group lead and Studio Illustrator at Honda R&D. His past clients include Hasbro, Activision, RPA & Boeing. 

Ed Natividad is a film Conceptual Designer whom’s illustrious career includes memorable designs from the “Star Wars” prequels, “The Matrix” trilogy, to more recent projects such as the batmobile & batwing from “Batman vs Superman”, “Aquaman”, “Dune 1 & 2” & “Fantastic Four: First Steps”.
