Story Portfolio Development with Trey Buongiorno (Online Course)

The focus of this storyboard course is to help students understand the basic approach to constructing a sequence that will stand out in a portfolio. The course will be covering the basics such as shot language, composition, screen direction, and advanced topics such as pacing, action, and acting. Students will be working with the instructor to create a strong portfolio piece based on week by week feedback, along side optional practice script and challenges. 

You will receive all the class-related emails for this course about a week before the first day of class.

  • (On Nov. 3rd, there will not be a formal class meeting. Instead, Trey will be organizing individual HW check in / feedback for that week with some supplemental recordings. More information will be announced during class.)


RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: 

  • Intro to Perspective
  • Dynamic Sketching
  • Analytical Figure Drawing
  • Sketching for Environment
  • Costume Gesture Drawing
  • Intro to Storyboard

 

MATERIALS: Computer/Laptop, Wacom & Storyboard Pro (highly recommended) or at very least Photoshop


INSTRUCTOR: Trey Buongiorno

Trey Buongiorno is a Feature Animation Story Artist, TV Animation Episode Director, and a Webcomic Artist on the side. His past projects include "The Adventures of Puss in Boots", "Big Hero 6: The Series", "Chibi Tiny Tales", "Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur" and "Kung Panda 4".

*Due to reasons such as instructor sick day, family emergencies, storm, earthquake, fire, flood, disease outbreak or other unforeseen circumstances, Concept Design Academy reserves the right to push any class back 1~2 weeks in schedule if necessary and change the class format to adjust for the emergency situation. Students are strongly recommended to plan their schedule with some flexibility in mind to avoid schedule conflicts.
