This foundational digital painting course focuses on value, color & lighting. The students will learn how to observe & capture accurate color relationships, how to breakdown & understand various lighting set up, warm and cool schemes, and how to push color without breaking believability. This is a great class for both character and environment artists, who wish to gain a better understanding of color and lighting. (This class is taught with digital medium and is supplemented with some traditional gouache painting exercises.)

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: Vis Com 1: Dynamic Sketching and some previous Photoshop painting experience.
MATERIALS: Digital materials such as PC/Mac, Wacom Tablet/Cintiq, and Photoshop.
INSTRUCTOR: Mike Hernandez is a Production Designer/ Visual Development Artist at Dreamworks Feature Animation. His past projects include "Sinbad", "Spirit", "Shrek 4", "Bee Movie", "Monsters vs Aliens" and "Turbo".
