The understanding and use of architecture is a powerful tool for environment designers to create believable worlds that that tells a story about the people/culture that created it. In the intermediate environment design course, we will start from the smaller prop design and build out to the bigger architecture design based on the function, history and storytelling of the space. Topics such as exploring and problem solving design ideas through research, line drawings, 3D models, and painting will be discussed and demonstrated in the weekly lecture, and assignment.

 

This is a hybrid class that is taking place at CDA CAMPUS.

 

CLASS #: 125W

TIME: Thursdays, 8:00 PM - 10:30PM (PDT) & Sundays, 6:00PM - 7:00PM (PDT)

(This class meets twice on Thursday night in in person/hybrid format and Sunday evening, 6PM~7PM for an hour of online mid-week HW feedback session. This class runs a total of 3.5 hrs. per week.)

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: Intro to Perspective, Vis Com 1: Dynamic Sketching, Sketching for Environment, Perspective & Cinematography or BG Design for Animation
