Character& Story Development is an intensive study of great characters and story design, with lessons for students who wish to craft their own stories. Every week Marshall will share with us a concentrated slideshows and analysis of film and animation masterpieces for us to learn from. Topics such as explanation of character and story elements, and advice from master storytellers on how to involve and satisfy an audience. If you have a project of your own, this course will give you the structure and inspiring examples to help you create your best work.

MATERIALS: Traditional sketching materials or Computer/Wacom/Photoshop to take notes and follow class assignments.
INSTRUCTOR: Marshall Vandruff is widely considered one of the top instructors on the subject of composition & visual storytelling. He have been training artists for various studios such as Blizzard Entertainment, Rockstar San Diego, Insomniac Games, Disneyland and Black Isle Studios. Some of his past students he have greatly influenced include Justin Sweet, Vance Kovacs, Chris Appelhans, Christie Tseng, & along with many of our teachers at CDA.
