This introductory course focuses on creating characters with strong personalities and visual interest. Topics such as archetypes, shapes, posing, expression, capturing personality & costume will be covered by the in-class lectures and demonstrations. This is a great class for anyone interested in getting into the character design field. (Previous figure drawing and Vis Com 1 experience are strongly recommended.)

INSTRUCTOR: Kevin Chen is a freelance concept artist on projects such as "9", "Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2", "Ender's Game", & "Suckerpunch".
Joshua James Shaw is a Senior Illustrator at Marvel Studios currently working on Marvel's "What if...?". His past projects include "Deadpool", "Xmen: Days of the Future Past", "The Punisher", & "Daredevil".
