This hands-on course focuses on the use of color key and lighting cinematography to help enhance the storytelling in film production. The course will cover the use of light & color as essential narrative tools in both early visual development as well as lighting guides in a 3D production. Topics such as B&W lighting setup, mood creation, creating color keys, & setting up photoshop paintings in a way that is efficient and easy to understand in a 3D production pipeline. Due to the understanding of form, materials, color & digital painting skills required for the course.

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE:
MATERIALS: Computer, Wacom (or Cintiq), and Photoshop. Traditional gouache medium optional.
INSTRUCTOR: Mike Hernandez is a Production Designer/ Visual Development Artist at Dreamworks Feature Animation. His past projects include "Sinbad", "Spirit", "Shrek 4", "Bee Movie", "Monsters vs Aliens" and "Turbo".
