This foundational painting course will focus on value, color & lighting. The students will learn how to observe and capture accurate color relationships, how to break down and understand various lighting set up, warm and cool color schemes, and how to push color without breaking believability. This is a great class for both character and environment artists, who wishes to gain a better understanding of color and lighting through practical, hands on painting experience.

TIME: Saturdays, 9:30AM - 1:30PM (4 Hours)

DURATION: 10 Weeks*

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: Vis Com 1: Dynamic Sketching, Analytical Figure Drawing, Head and Hands, previous painting experience recommended

MATERIALS: Traditional Oil Painting materials required

INSTRUCTOR: Dan Cooper is currently working at Disney Feature Animation as a Visual Development Artist / Associate Production Designer. His past projects include "Tarzan", "Tangled", "Wreck it Ralph", & "Zootopia". Christina Cooper is a fine art painter and painting instructor. Her work is featured in seven galleries across the nation and she has been awarded the prestigious Museum Director's Choice Award by the California Art Club in 2002
