This class focuses on the storyboarding techniques used primarily in Streaming animation pipeline. Topics discussed will range from the basics of shots and composition, building up to shot progressions and movement composition, to the more advanced creation of pacing and rhythm in a storyboard sequence. If time permits, the class will also cover drawing short-hands, acting, and choreography.

 

You will receive all the class-related emails for this course about a week before the first day of class.

INSTRUCTOR: Monica Davila

Monica has been a storyboard artist, director, supervising director, and illustrator in the animation industry for over ten years. She started her career as a production assistant and character layout apprentice at Paramount Animation before moving over to storyboarding and directing at studios such as Nickelodeon, Disney TV, DreamWorks TV, Titmouse, and more. She has also worked on a variety of projects for different clients including Netflix, Mattel, The Pokemon Company, and Sanrio. In 2021 Monica won the Gracie Allen Award for her directorial work on Nick Jr's Santiago of the Seas, and she is currently working as the supervising director on an unannounced series at Kickstart Entertainment.
