In this class, we will be studying the great films of the past and learn how to update and apply the knowledge onto your own movie storyboards. Phil will be breaking down movie scene staging in details to teach students the design and staging language behind the shots to tell a story visually. There will be a lot of hands-on drawing from week to week to help students build up their drawing skills and film knowledge needed to be a visual storyteller in film making industry. During class, Phil will share with the students his process of making an independent short film from writing to film planning. This is a great class for students who wants to learn the visual language of storyboarding and may want to create short films of their own.
