This course focuses on the practical use of 3D & 2D mediums to create a finished environment illustration for concept presentation. Students will learn how to use the 3D software, Blender to create a simple 3D geometry base and use Photoshop to complete rendering the image to a high level of finish. This is a great class for the environment or prop designers who wants to implement 3D into their workflow and use Blender to help them create and light environment or prop concepts for their design portfolio.

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITE: Intro to Perspective, Vis Com 1: Dynamic Sketching, Sketching for Environment, Intro to Color
MATERIALS: Laptop, Wacom, Photoshop, & Blender.

INSTRUCTOR: Andre Balmet

Andre is an experienced entertainment designer with a unique background in architecture and animation. Some of his past clients include Paramount,  Weta, Netflix, Sony Playstation, Blur Studios, & Skydance New Media. His past projects include "Love, Death & Robot", "Shadow & Bones" & Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas".



BLENDER BASE REQUIREMENT (PC/MAC SPECS): 

-6.4 bit dual core 2Ghz CPU with SSE2 support

-4 GB RAM

-1280x768 display

-Mouse, trackpad or pen+tablet

-Graphics card with 1 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.3

-Less than 10 year old computer
