During the early stages of an animation production, visual development artists are brought onto the project to explore and inspire the visual direction of the film. These designs need to serve the purpose of the story & each artist is often hired for their unique visual style and ideas. In this class, Mike and Victoria will share their knowledge on the skills and design thinking needed for animation pre-production. Topics such as character, props, & environment design will be touched as the students focus on establishing the overall visual look of the film. Due to the advanced nature of the course, portfolio review and previous design experiences will be required.
